What is The Law of Attraction?

An Introduction to How it Works

What is the Law of Attraction? This is an introduction to the Law Of Attraction and as to how it works. It is a philosophy stating that positive thoughts bring positive results into a person’s life, while negative thoughts bring negative results. This is how it works. It is based on the belief that thoughts are a form of energy and that positive energy attracts success in all areas of life. They include health, finances, and relationships. The Law of Attraction is also seen as a pseudoscience. Elizabeth Scott, MS
Pseudoscience or not, there does seem to be evidence that quantum physics supports this theory; “You will attract to yourself whatever you put out. Brain imaging is also showing that the brain does in fact, conform in its function to the Law of Attraction. You may find this article interesting and helpful. My Personal Experience With The Law of Attraction

I feel it is important to share how I became interested in the Law of Attraction. I have either been creating my life the way it is and have been extremely lucky. Or someone or something has been helping me along the way. I fully understand that we all make mistakes in our lives, and I personally believe that they are needed if we are ever to learn and to grow. I used to view mistakes as a sign of incompetence, I would feel so inferior, and downright stupid at times. It was actually painful for me and often kept me from living a full life. I was really hard on myself as well, everyone else was kinder to me than I ever could be.
It took many years to change my way of thinking about mistakes, I began to see them as a learning tool, today, I call them lessons, even blessings. I truly am grateful for them, maybe not all the time, but most of the time. But one thing is for sure-when recognize what is happening, I learn the lesson and if I am wise, my life gets better. Changing my point of view, just by calling a mistake a lesson instead, my whole concept of the incident changes. Those lessons I saw as challenges that I overcame, and when I did that, I became proud of myself for the growth I experienced in my life.
I finally realized that it wasn’t the mistake that made me feel bad, it was about the stories I told myself about the mistake, and about myself. I wondered what people would think about me. It was always about what others would think or say about me that made it so difficult to face. In other words, it was always about my ego, it was about my low-self esteem. It was because I didn’t believe in myself, I believed I was stupid and flawed. I knew then that I had to change the stories I was allowing myself to believe and they were all coming from my own imagination. I had to stop lying to myself, I had to stop caring about what other people were thinking and/or saying about me. And I did change, maybe not over night, but I eventually won the battle.
Once I stopped caring, I was less embarrassed, and people didn’t notice as often, the center of attraction that was once on me, just dissolved, and somehow those occasions lessened. They still happened, I still have loads to learn, but they don’t matter much anymore.

How I Became Interested in the Law of Attraction

I had a long-time relationship with religion and spirituality. As a result it was easy for me to become interested in the Law of Attraction. This relationship has caused me some of the worse pain and yet, some of the most amazing experiences imaginable. Organized religion caused me to turn away from God and often made my life miserable. It caused me to ask a whole lot of questions. And taught me to search for what made me feel better about what I chose to believe. I also learned to leave the rest of it behind me.
Being raised in a Christian environment, which was the only one my parents knew and believed in. I learned about how this man Jesus had died for my sins and my parents considered Him to be God, who loved me unconditionally. But they also spoke of a God who sat on a throne in Heaven and watched everything I did. He judged my every move, my every thought, hearing every word I spoke. He also kept a record of all these things. I also had to confess my sins if I was ever to be forgiven and cleansed from them. When death came, I would go to Heaven. I would live eternally in joy, peace and in the presence of God, “if ” I had no sins on my soul. However, if I died with sins on my soul, I would go to a place called Hell. Wherein, I would live eternally burning and suffering in the fires of Hell, in company with the Devil.
Since it was God who got to decide my fate, I had to love Him with all my heart and soul, and I always had to be good. I don’t mean any offense to anyone, including my parents, but man, what a load of crap to feed a child. And even though I know this is crap, some of this lingers in my subconscious mind. Today I think of the historical Christ, as a supreme teacher or guru if you like. Perhaps His teachings were horribly misunderstood and now I have a deep respect for His teachings .

An Introduction to The Law of Attraction First Came When “The Secret” Was Published

An introduction first came when The Secret by Rhonda Byrne was published in 2006. I was very pleased and excited by this new way of thinking. It all made sense to me, and my spirituality was newly awakened. I had a vision during the summer of 1983 which showed me a new way of seeing God. There was no understanding of what I had seen until many years later, and The Secret helped me with that. Like most visions, from my understanding, they are for teaching the individual, unless of course, it isn’t. Spirituality can be a bit confusing.
In 1999, I entered university to study religion, I got my degree, but absolutely nothing I learned there brought me any closer to God, if anything it caused just the opposite and thus, walked away from organized religion for the last time. I still held on to the vision I had experienced, and knew there would be more to come, I wasn’t finished with spirituality. The closest I could get, as far as my understanding was at the time, was Buddhism. Without teachers to help me along I left it behind me as well.
During the summer of 2015 I began to search once again, the pull toward spirituality never left me. I always felt like something, or someone was taking care of me, this was an absolute knowing that I had nothing to worry about, ever.
Developing an interest in NDE’s (near death experiences), I read about and watched hundreds of videos of people’s testimonies. The stories were all quite similar, but like my vision, catered to each individual in a way that would help them on their journey here on earth. I just couldn’t deny there was something out there worth looking for. This led to an introduction to new teachers.

From That Point I Started Finding Authors Who Supported The Law of Attraction

From that point I started finding authors that supported the Law of Attraction. People like, Byron KatieEckhart TolleDeepak ChopraDr. Wayne Dyer , don Miguel Ruiz, and Esther Hicks. There were so many others, however, I found these to be most profound and helpful to my awakening. And they all helped me by pointing the way to go on my journey. These teachers helped me feel that I had finally found people who understood what I had been searching for all my life. Everything they wrote about and talked about gave me a much fuller understanding of the vision I had experienced so long ago. I knew I had finally found a spiritual avenue that I could fully relate to. I began my journey of awakening and eventually was led to the Law Of Attraction.
During my introduction, I learned that the LOA is based on energy and that energy is produced through our feelings and emotions. They then produce vibrational waves of that said energy. We are not being judged by any God, and our happiness is not based on whether this God is punishing us or not. God does not punish us, and he is not looking down on us keeping tabs on what we do or do not do. And that work ethic that we all seem to buy into, you know the one that says, “the harder you work the more you have, love, happiness, money, respect, and all the other stuff you desire in your life. Yes, I agree, it can be for some people, and that’s great, and I hope that the harder you work and the more time you put into your work that this will indeed make you happy.

I Know Loads of People Who Have Worked so Hard All Their Lives, Slaved, and Have Nothing to Show for it.

I know loads of people who have worked so hard all their lives, slaved, and have nothing to show for it. There are people I know who have hardly lifted a finger, who are wealthy and happy. Being “good” doesn’t do it for us either. Many people are the kindest, nicest, most loving people ever, and they have barely anything. We all know people who are lazy, nasty, mean-hearted individuals, who have wealth and abundance in every area of their lives, so what’s up with that? This used to bother me to no end, but now that I know about the Law Of Attraction, it all makes sense. We all create our own circumstances in our lives, and I am not saying this to punish anyone, how are we to know the difference, if we just don’t know it?
I now know that God is “everything” in existence, God is “energy”, God is “not” a human being sitting up there on a throne judging all of us down here, just waiting to punish us for being bad. We are all created in God’s image, we are all connected to God’s energy, and we all have access to that energy, to use in every area of our lives. We must learn how it works. God does not see what religion you are, what color your skin is, unless it is to marvel at His amazingly beautiful work, He doesn’t care what gender you are, or who you have sex with, He doesn’t care if you’re busy all the time or lazing around all day, or any of that stuff, all He sees is the vibrations you put out there. If you put out a vibration of lack, that is what you are going to get, if you put out a vibration of abundance, then that is what you will get.

How The Law of Attraction Works

The Law of Attraction works, as I said before, on the principle of our emotions. Which produce waves of vibrations, that then produce what we are focusing on the most. I was constantly dwelling on the negative aspects of my life. This was before I was given an introduction to the Law. I learned that those negative thoughts I focused on, were vibrational waves and I was sending them out. Therefore, I was attracting more negativity into my life. Now I focus on the positivity in my life, so, the vibrational waves I send out, attracts more positivity. In other words, “like attracts like”. When we remove negative things from our thinking, it makes room for attracting more positive things.
So according to the Law of Attraction, we are responsible for our own reality. There was a time when I would dwell on lack and poverty, and I had my plate full of it all the time. I just took it for granted that it was going to be my lot in life. As a consequence, I started focusing on all the wonderful things I had, my beautiful family and friends, good health, and a roof over my heard. Finally, I became more grateful for everything I had. I didn’t become rich, but I did create an abundance of joy and peacefulness. Eventually, people came out of the woodwork to help me, befriend me, to take me out to restaurants with them to share meals. I “always” had enough to take care of all my needs. In effect, I have and will continue to practice gratefulness in my life.

I Have Learned to Pay Attention to My Thoughts

I have learned to pay attention to my thoughts, and I have also learned to control them to a degree. Therefore, it just keeps getting easier all the time. I am so in touch with my inner being that I am almost always aware of my thoughts. As a result, I am able to change those thoughts to a purer vibration very quickly. I am using that vibration to create a better life for myself; thus, I am much happier most of the time and much more optimistic about life.
